Michaela has been telling stories for as long as she can remember. First as an actor and choreographer, and later as a social scientist, filmmaker and content producer. She has traveled the world following stories that captivated her attention, from South Africa to Rwanda to India to Switzerland.
As an independent consultant she has been fortunate to collaborate with Global Fund for Women, Independent Television Services’ Women & Girls Lead Global, Memphis is Music Initiative, Community Foundation for Monterey County, Nike Foundation’s Grassroots Girls Initiative and EngenderHealth. Michaela is fascinated by participatory methods for measuring, documenting and sharing social change and is committed to elevating marginalized and lesser heard stories, by building the capacity of citizens to tell their own stories.
Michaela holds Masters of Public Health and Public Administration from the University of Washington, where she focused on the role of storytelling in global health policy and advocacy. She also earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from New York University.
When not working with clients, Michaela bakes fruit cobblers and makes art.
