Cristina (she/her) is an account manager at Wonder, where she works across research, storytelling, and project management to help progressive advocates communicate with clarity, compassion, and purpose. She’s passionate about helping changemakers create messaging that accelerates social change and deepens public understanding. Cristina brings structure to complexity, keeping sight of big-picture goals while ensuring every detail supports a broader vision of equity and impact. Above all, she’s committed to creating strategies that not only empower organizations but also uplift the people and communities they serve.
Prior to joining Wonder, Cristina worked across legal services and nonprofit development and communications, with a focus on immigration, child education, and human services — including migrant assistance, food security, and supporting unhoused individuals. She has led fundraising initiatives, built strategic partnerships, and designed digital campaigns, all with a focus on relationship building, sustainability, and community engagement through storytelling.
A first generation Mexican-American and California native, Cristina currently lives in San Diego. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from UC Davis, where she developed an understanding of policy, advocacy, and social systems, along with a passion for equity-driven work and influencing positive change. In her free time, you can find her on the beach, trying a new restaurant, or planning the next event for her social club, which brings people together to foster connection and community.
What motivates you to do this work?
“Rhetoric holds immense power in shaping perspectives — it can reinforce beliefs or completely dismantle them. I see storytelling, connection, and strategic thinking as the heart of meaningful change. I love finding creative ways to help people connect with ideas and communities they once saw as foreign. Whether it’s through education or engagement, I strive to inspire action — whether that’s action to incite change or action to question their own beliefs.”
What’s your superpower?
“My ability to quickly adapt and problem-solve while staying organized. Even when things don’t go as planned I’m able to stay focused, resourceful, and solution-oriented while keeping things on track. I credit this to my calm demeanor and optimistic mindset. I firmly believe that where there’s a will, there’s a way. We can always make things work, even if it’s not in the way we first imagined.”
